Taking Action in YOUR Community
When we created our new website and 15-min cut of the film, we had one word in mind: ACTION
Taking action with The Long Shadow is:Â
1 - Watching and sharing the film with your community
2 - Using our free Community Action Guide to create discussion
3 - Joining our monthly Q&A or hosting a Q&A for your organization
The Long Shadow is helping create a dialogue about systemic anti-Black racism in communities across the country and is being described as a great way to start what can be a difficult conversation.Â
Dozens of community groups and organizations are sharing The Long Shadow with their members and partnering with us to host screening events.
Recent partners include Toyota, Dominican Sisters of Hope, and The First Presbyterian Church of Murray, Kentucky.Â
"In these perilous times, honest and frank conversation is needed so that we can resolve our racial divide at long last. The Long Shadow is a great way to break the proverbial ice so that we can have this much-needed dialogue."
Dr. Brian K. Clardy, Associate Professor of History, Murray State University
We are here to support you.  Contact the filmmakers at thelongshadow@gmail.com to talk about hosting a Q&A for your group or with any questions about what you can do to Take Action today.Â
PS: We dropped our DVD prices to make the film more accessible and easier to share. A significant portion of all proceeds is donated to Black-led social justice organizations.Â
