50+ libraries in 2 states hosting screenings for Juneteenth!
Thank you to the more than 50 libraries in Illinois and New Jersey for sharing The Long Shadow via 2 separate screening events and live Q&As with Director Frances Causey in June. We're honored to reach thousands of patrons and community members with the film's message and conversations about Juneteenth.
Juneteenth is an annual holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. Want to learn more? Here's a clip from The Long Shadow, and check out this great article by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. for PBS.
June also brings online streaming events and live Q&As with the First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield and San Francisco Unity Group, a faith-based grassroots organization committed to dismantling systemic racism at the local, regional and national levels.
Thank you to all of our partners for doing the important work to further this conversation and educating and encouraging their members to do the same.
Interested in hosting a screening event for your organization or group?
Better together,
The Frances Causey Films team
