The Long Shadow Director Frances Causey will join the incredible LaTonya Lawson-Jones and Dr. Gerald Horne TONIGHT for a live Zoom Q&A at 5pm PST / 8pm EST.
Dr. Gerald Horne received his Ph.D. from Columbia University and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Horne is Moores Professor of History and African-American Studies at the University of Houston where he holds the John J. and Rebecca Moores Chair of History and African American Studies. He is the author of dozens of books, 100’s of scholarly publications, and a recipient of a 2021 American Book Award for his most recent work, The Dawning of the Apocalypse: The Roots of Slavery, White Supremacy, Settler Colonialism, and Capitalism in the Long Sixteenth Century.
LaTonya Lawson-Jones is the Co-Founder and Project Director of The Nomini Hall Slave Legacy Project, a Genealogy Research project that attempts to connect the descendants of the 511 enslaved Africans and their children manumitted by Robert Carter III in 1791 from his Nomini Hall estate in Westmoreland County, Virginia.
Director Frances Causey is an Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker and journalist with 15 years experience as a Senior Producer at CNN and previous work hailed as a New York Times Critic’s Pick.
